Picture Day Perfection

Today was picture day and we read the story Picture Day Perfection.  The boy in the story tried very hard to look awful and take a "bad" picture.  Sadly, he was so happy with his perfect bad look that he smiled just when the camera clicked!  His mom said it was his best picture yet, the boy didn't agree.  He has started to plan his next picture day.  That made us think, lets see our parent approved photo and our "OH NO!" Photo.  Enjoy!

Roots of Empathy

We had our first class of Roots of Empathy (les racines d'empathie). We said hello to Mme Sagert and can't wait to meet baby John (Linh's brother).

The Integrated Arts

On Monday we were lucky enough to have our artist Mme Alexander come to our school to teach us about the Aboriginal Culture.

Mme Alexander brought a lot of beautiful aboriginal artifacts, which she let us touch and explore.  Among the artifacts were dream catchers, sun catchers, furs, moccasins, mukluks, gourd rattles and many more interesting objects.

Mme Alexander came back Thursday to help us create a paper medicine wheel.

On Thursday next week, we will be wrapping leather around a metal hoop.   We will be learning about what the traditional colours of the wheel signify (red, yellow, black and white.) We will be finishing our medicine wheels, using pony beads, pipe cleaners and feathers.

Library

Just a reminder that we have library on Monday, please return your library books!!!!
